How long is my RVP valid for?

The lifespan of your Resident Visitor Permit (RVP) is dependent on the local authority and whether there is a maximum threshold count. Following is a list of local authorities - this will be updated as more come on board.

Folkestone & Hythe Borough Council (formerly Shepway)

Valid for one year from the date the application is accepted.

London Borough of Barking & Dagenham Council

Valid for one year from the date the application is accepted.

London Borough of Croydon Council

Valid for one year from the date the application is accepted.

London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham Council

Valid for one year from the date the application is accepted.

London Borough of Islington Council

Valid for three years from the date the application is accepted.

London Borough of Lewisham Council

Valid for one year from the date the application is accepted.

London Borough of Richmond Council

No lifespan against the application but a maximum threshold count of 120 sessions is enforced. Although there is no lifespan on Richmond Resident Visitors Permits we would recommend that you re-apply with the Council upon reaching the final five sessions of your allocated 120 threshold. This will ensure that your new application is reviewed and if approved, added to your RingGo account ready for use prior to the existing application expiring.

London Borough of Waltham Forest Council

Valid for one year from the date the application is accepted.

Portsmouth City Council

Valid for three years from the date the application is accepted.

Your application is again forwarded to the Council for review within five working days and a RingGo Enquiry will be raised to confirm the status is currently set as 'Pending'. Once the Council have reviewed your application, you will beinformed by email that your enquiry has been updated with the decision.
