Islington offers discounted visitor parking sessions to residents who are
- aged 60 or over; or who
- receive Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payments (PIP) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).
If this doesn't apply to you please use the standard Resident Visitor permit.
Islington residents can book visitor parking sessions for the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) they live in. Resident visitor sessions are valid in the following types of parking bay for the time period purchased:
- Resident permit holder only
- Shared use bay for resident permit holder and pay by phone
- Permit holder only
- Shared use bay for permit holder and pay by phone
Visitor parking sessions purchased on RingGo are paperless and there is no need to display anything in the vehicle.
Before purchasing visitor parking sessions you will need to apply for Islington Resident Visitor Permit to be authorised on your RingGo account. This is because the visitor parking sessions are only available to residents of Islington to purchase for their personal visitors.

Before you begin:
To apply for this permit, you will need to upload one of the following documents, which needs to include your name and the address of the property within the relevant CPZ for which you are applying:
- An energy, water, or council tax bill dated within the last three months
- HMRC statement dated within the last three months
- Driving licence issued to the applicant at the Islington address
- A current tenancy agreement signed by all relevant parties to the agreement, current lease agreement, solicitor's letter confirming purchase of property, or current mortgage agreement/statement dated within the last 12 months.
and one proof of either your age or benefit award:
- Passport
- Driving licence issued to the applicant at the Islington address
- Birth Certificate
- Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
- Personal Independence Payments (PIP)
- Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
- Older Person Freedom Pass
